HMS Bulwark Sent to the Md

HMS Bulwark and to Merlin helicopters have been ordered by the British Prime Minister to the Mediterranean to help in the humanitarian crisis their. HMS Bulwark the 19,000 tonne amphibious warship will support surveillance  in the area, she will leave as son as her  ceremonial duties in Turkey come to an end.

Calbuco Volcano Erupts





The Volcano Calbuco in southern Chile has erupted again (last 1972),throwing thick black ash into the air. The Chilean government have evacuated about 1200 people from the area and imposed a 20 KM exclusion area around it.

Amazon, Audi  and DHL have partnered up in Munich for an Amazon trial. Drivers of internet connected Audi vehicles will give their approximate location at a given time, along with electronic trunk access and  DHL will deliver the products ordered from Amazon direct into their boots.

HS2 Slow Compared to Japan's 374 MPH Train

The Japanese Maglev Train has broken its own world speed record  by traveling at 374 MPH. The train that runs on electrical charged magnets was build at a cost estimated at   £67bn and is hoped to be on use between  Tokyo and Osaka.

Compare this to HS2 which at a cost of £52bn and already over budget and will travel at half the speed for about the same cost.

The Italian Navy is searching for 400 people after a boat capsized 24 hrs after leaving Libya  ago Many of them thought to be unaccompanied  children, the boat had 550 people on board

It seem according to TASS that the Russia military have woken up to the usefulness of mans best friend,  Deputy chief of the Russian Defence Ministry’s military police department Vladimir Kovalev has said after a look at other countries use of dogs

"We have in mind the canine centre in the town of Dmitrov near Moscow for this purpose since the foreign armies’ experiences prove that dogs are widely used in military police," Kovalev said. "We have been to Kazakhstan, Slovakia and other countries where police dogs are used really efficiently. If one have a look at how any wrongdoer reacts to dogs, it becomes clear dogs are a good helping hand."

Cruising Promotes Shipbuilding

The 930-passenger cruise ship Viking Star as it was floated out in a ceremony at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy last June. The ship will take its first cruise on Saturday, April 11, leaving from Istanbul.

The growth in cruising has bought about a plethora of  new ships for both the river and sea,both  Viking  River Cruises and Viking Ocean Cruises will have three new ships by 2017Royal Caribbean,Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC will all have nine new ships between them by 2022 and Carnival Corp have announced that they intend to build nine ships by 2022
