Edible Drones


How  do you deliver food to people In a  war zone or in inaccessible areas. By drone of of course! Not any drone but a drone with edible parts. Nigel Gifford has the  answer. The founder and chairman of two-year-old Windhorse Aerospace, based in Yeovil, England is designing it with some parts that are edible and others that can be used for heating the food that will be carried in the hold.

UV Light could kill the flu virus in Hospitals

The flu virus can be killed off in hospitals and public places using UV light.

Researchers at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center suggest far-UVC lamps should be installed in hospitals, doctors offices, schools, airports and other public places

Tiny Hummingbirds Are Marvels of Endurance





Ruby-throated hummingbirds are impressive birds. On average, they beat their wings 52 times per second. They can can reach flight speeds of up to 63 mph to evade danger. They're also endurance flyers.

Every fall, ruby-throated hummingbirds make the long flight from the eastern U.S. to Central America to winter in warmer climates. And they may cover greater distances than previously thought, according to a new study which also sheds some light on how young hummingbirds handle the challenge

Police Helicopter Moves Bases



Day 28 - West Midlands Police Helicopter - Air Ops - Alpha Oscar One


         The Staffordshire's police helicopter will be moving out of the county. The helicopter used to jointly serve Staffordshire Police, West Midlands Police and West Mercia Police will be based in Birmingham instead of at Halfpenny Green Airport. As a result, the nearest aircraft available will attend requests for assistance
A spokesperson for Staffordshire police said"The closure of the bases should have no effect on the service we deliver."
